OKLAHOMA TWISTER RODEO SERIES LAUNCHED

Nine Oklahoma IPRA rodeo committees have added their rodeos to the second  “Oklahoma Twister Rodeo Series.”  The series will kick off at the 26th Annual Owasso Round-up Club IPRA Championship Rodeo on April30-May1 and will wind up at the 17th Annual Living Legends Rodeo in Henryetta, OK on September 4-5, 2010.

Eight specially designed trophy buckles from Maynard Buckles will be presented to the high money winners of the series.  Series eligibility is as follows:

• Contestants must have a current IPRA card
  

• Must compete at 7 of the 9 rodeos in the series
  

• Buckles will be presented to high money earners in each event (2 buckles presented in team roping)
  

“We created this series to give a little more incentive to draw contestants to our Oklahoma rodeos”, said Tammie Hiatt, chairman of the Living Legends Rodeo committee.  “The more contestants we can bring to our rodeos, the better rodeos we can produce and the more revenue we generate for our communities.  The ten rodeo committees that have added this new series to their rodeos are really throwing out the welcome mat to the IPRA contestants and I hope the contestants will respond to our efforts. Hopefully, this series is something that will grow in years to come.”
