2007 IPRA World Champion Bull Rider
Nathan Tull

Twenty-eight year old, Nathan Tull of Shawnee, OK has based his rodeo career on setting goals and reaching them.  Three years ago he earned the IPRA Rookie of the Year honor and has now reached his ultimate goal in the IPRA, the world championship.  “The last three years I have set a goal, achieved it, and then set another one.  So far, I have reached all of my goals.  It still hasn’t really sank in that I am the World Champion, but if feels good,” comments Tull.

“I want to make the IFR again this year to defend my title.  I didn’t have as good of a finals as I had hoped, I was really wanting to top off the year with an exclamation point by having a great finals, but it didn’t happen that way,”  said Nathan.

A 77 point ride on Cross Stitch from Latting Rodeo Company earned Tull a third place check in the first round of IFR competition.  He put 81 points on the board with The Trick from Hedrick Rodeo Company to take second in the round.  Tull and Touched by Maddness from Big Hat Rodeo Company were not a compatible match and failed to make the eight seconds together in the third round.  Little Erckel of Cross Creek Rodeo Company got the upper hand in the fourth go shutting Tull out of the round.

“Ryan Dirteater really put some pressure on me at the finals.  It’s a funny story, really.  I noticed him about half way through the season and asked him if he wanted to try and make the finals.  He started traveling with me and almost beat me out of the world title,” chuckled Nathan.  “I think we’ll be traveling together for a long time.  He is an outstanding bull rider.”
