2011 Big Hat Championship Series


    The Big Hat Championship Series is back!  Owner Rudy Calzavara is delighted to announce the details for the 2011 contestant incentive awards.  There are eight participating rodeos. They are:

1.) July 2-3 Galena, IL (2nd is Tough Enough to Wear Pink night) ***Triple Points Rodeo       2.) July 13 Ottawa, IL
3.) July 23 St. Charles, IL  **Double Points Rodeo
4.) July 30-31 Harvard, IL   ** Double Points Rodeo                                                                     5.) Aug 5 Oregon IL
6) Aug 19 Pecatonica, IL
7.) August 20-21 Elkhorn, WI ***Triple Points Rodeo
8.) Sept 10 Belvidere, IL

ATTENTION TEAM ROPERS: 
The winners of each rodeo will receive a certificate from Running P Ropes for a rope of your choice from their website.  Series Team Roping Champions will each receive 3 ropes from Running P Ropes.


The St. Charles & Elkhorn rodeos will award a $100.00 cash bonus to the winner of each event. All remaining rodeos will award a $50 cash bonus to each event winner.  There will also be a drawing from all competitors for a bonus fuel card at each rodeo.


  Series awards include:  Highest Points Total (in one or multiple events)

  • $500.00 cash bonus
  • A beautiful custom made belt buckle
  • Merchandise awards

   Series awards for high points total in other events include(Team ropers see above)
  • A beautiful custom made belt buckle
  • Merchandise awards


To qualify for awards you must be a current member of the IPRA/CSRA and compete in a minimum of 6 rodeos and place in at least 1, (except Team Roping) where you must compete in a minimum of 5 rodeos and place in at least 1.  Points will be awarded as follows at each rodeo.                                                                                                             
          1st place:   500 points                 2nd place:  400 points
          3rd place:  300 points                 4th place:   200 points
          5th place:  100 points                  6th place:     50 points

A Competition bonus of 100 points will be awarded for each rodeo you compete in.
